DW1-18 - MULTILAYERED O'VILLA WITH TEXTURE

With or without contrasting colors, rendering O'Villa with texture provides both Old World and contemporary looks.  By skip-troweling, base colors can be used as integral elements of the finished product.  Sanding through texture and allowing underneath colors to peek through enhance the look further.

DW2-3 - WAXED VENETIAN GEM WITH MICA POWDER

Dimensionally troweled Venetian Gem forms an excellent base for the application of mica powder infused natural wax.  The metallic particles gather in the textured plaster's nooks and crannies and emphasize the sculptured surface.  Buffing the wax raise a beautiful soft shine.  In this sample, Emerald Green plaster is the base for silver mica.

DW2-9 - MULTILAYERED VENETIAN GEM

Using a unique material named Venetian Gem Basecoat, a textured base is developed upon which multiple colors are added each finding and settling into its own level of texture.  Note not only the brilliant colors shining through, but the interplay among colors and the occasional optical color blending.

DW2-5 - TEXTURED VENETIAN GEM

Simultaneously applying multiple colors of Venetian Gem by trowel in multiple layers, with each layer very slightly textured over the one below, yields a complex effect.  The result requires neither a burnishing/polishing to raise a shine, nor a waxing or finish coat.  Let the colors speak for themselves.  When blended with Venetian Gem Tinting Base, translucency is achieved without being coated or mechanically forced.

DW2-14 - CRACKED VENETIAN GEM WITH PALETTE DECO

An extension of the technique and medium of crackle is to combine it with various materials, in this case Venetian Gem.  By purposefully applying the crackle in occasional areas without specific pattern, an antiqued and to some an aged leather result is achieved.  Tightly troweling on a layer of Metallic Palette Deco, some of the deeper cracked crevices are partially filled and smoothed out, giving a nice aged look.

VG-A - ORANGE-GOLD PALETTE DECO
OVER BLACK VENETIAN GEM

Application of a warm metallic Palette Deco over an organically textured black Venetian Gem base creates a glamorous finish.  Consider this finish for powder room walls, foyer entrances, and even lightly used but high fashion furniture or vanity tops.

DW2-1 - VENETIAN GEM WITH WHITE SKIM

Combining the translucent, 3-dimensional feature of burnished Venetian Gem with additional properties of tinted Venetian Gem tinting base, a striking, glasslike complex finish is possible.  In this sample, several layers of Sand color plaster provides a neutral base for the white accent.

VG-3B - VENETIAN GEM WITH VENEZIANO FINISH COAT

The translucency and high-polish traits of Veneziano make its application over any texture base gorgeous.  In this sample, multiple textured layers of Emerald Green Venetian Gem are coated with a tight skim of Veneziano.  Some people remark that the effect is that of marble.  Others comment that it is as if looking through frozen ice to the ocean below.

VG-3A - POLISHED VENETIAN GEM

The simple use of one Venetian Gem color, arranged in multiple organically textured layers can result in shades, shadows and color changes once only thought possible using multiple materials.  But by the unique nature of Venetian Gem and its ability to appear darkened when burnished over texture beneath, true dimension becomes visible.  In this sample, the only material used is Emerald Green Venetian Gem.

SS-101 - BLUSH VENETIAN GEM

Light, cool colors, inter-troweling chamois and blush Venetian Gem creates this delicate look.  Strong, dark or bold colors are not necessary to achieve a multidimensional result.

DW2-11 - STRIPED VENEZIANO

Veneziano, a very unique, ultrapolishing Venetian Gem is used here in multiple layers, each with its own unique but related tint color.  To many, the effect is as of Travertine marble.  Geometric stripes are added using medium oak tinted natural wax.  The overall finish is burnished and waxed to a high shine.  This look lends itself well to large rooms, hallways and provides a formal look.

DW2-12 - VENETIAN GEM WITH TINTING BASE SKIM

Layer after layer, color after color, with Venetian Gem the possibilities for a glamorous look are endless.  As the translucency of the material offers color building and not color hiding, the overall effect of the layering is additive and complex.  In this sample, the greens, blues, ochres and whites create a rainbow of shades.  Suitable and enjoyable in any room that deserves its own character.

SS-102 - VENETIAN GEM - TOPAZ COLOR MIXES

By applying several layers of related yet distinct colors, all based on using Topaz Venetian Gem as the parent color, a tonal display emerges.

DW2-2 - WAXED VENETIAN GEM WITH MICA POWDER

Dimensionally troweled Venetian Gem forms an excellent base for the application of mica powder infused natural wax.  The metallic particles gather in the textured plaster's nooks and crannies and emphasize the sculptured surface.  Buffing the wax raise a beautiful soft shine.  In this sample, Ruby plaster is the base for gold mica.

VG-4 - TEXTURED AND WAXED VENETIAN GEM

Not all Venetian Gem finishes either require a burnished (shiny) appearance or must be smooth.  While the material burnishes to a unique shine and in the process reveals underneath layers, an equally attractive finish is that of unburnished texture.  Organically applying layers and building texture, and completing the process by applying a waxy "finish coat" (not wax, but a harder shell finish), a soft, satiny luster is the result.  Such finish coat can be tinted to infuse color (as in this sample), or left untinted.

VG-6 - ALTERNATING VENETIAN
GEM AND TINTING BASE

The use of Venetian Gem tinting base is not purely for synthesizing colors unavailable from the manufacturer.  On the contrary, tinting base is in and of itself a wondrous material in that its translucent properties enable it to be used in a mixture with pretinted Venetian Gem, alternating among layers of pretinted Venetian Gem, to achieve a beautiful look of layered depth.

VG-11 - VENEZIANO

A Venetian plaster finish created with Veneziano alone provides just about the highest gloss, glass smooth look achievable.  Rendered with closely related colors, simple elegance is achieved.  Best used in areas that will be seen, I.e. living/dining room, powder room, entrance foyer, stairway.  In this example, Veneziano mixed with varying amounts of white colorant are used in layers.

Venetian plaster is but one of our wide variety of Italian plaster finishes.  From a glassy burnished wall to a multi-layered texture, the number of possible solutions at your reach is endless.  Color is but one of your decorating goals.  Through the use of layered colors and textures, your walls will achieve the profound look your desire.

CL-GL2 - WAXED VENEZIANO

By varying the colors of the layers of Veneziano and applying organically, an interesting and impressive marble effect is possible.  In this sample, the pattern of layer colors was light-darker-light, with an overall light oak waxing afterward to fill in pores and highlight texture.

DW2-15 - UNTONED PALETTE DECO OVER VENETIAN GEM

Textured metal?  Seems so.  Building Venetian Gem layers with texture and later filling with the buttery smooth, highly reflective Palette Deco creates a finish so unique that it is art in itself and almost a shame to cover with hanging wall art.  The play of light on and within the texture's craters further emphasizes the elegance.

DW1-17 - MULTILAYERED O'VILLA

O'Villa finishing plaster, a novel material with its soft, chalky look and feel, pastel color and fresco similarity, is a great solution for any wall.  By multilayering, shades and textures will blend and seamlessly flow.  Textured as well as smooth finishes are possible.
